Piggybacking on yesterday's romance writing tip, once the writing starts to flow, create an outline. Even if you don't stick to it, at least you'll have a direction when you sit down to write.

FYI, I've yet to finish a romance novel where I stuck to the outline exactly. More often than not, when the characters start to speak (as discussed yesterday), they lead you some place else. Really! They really, really do take on a mind of their own -- which is another big surprise from me coming from a non-fiction, "how-to" writing background.

Happy writing!
