Dear She Writers,

I have to say, in just 20 minutes of She Writes time, I can safely say that in terms of it supporting my work and creativity, it knocks the socks off of Facebook. Since I work from home, social networking has become a lifeline to civilization (often in the same sweatpants, but that's for another story). FB has it's place, and has helped me connect to dear old friends and wonderful sources for stories, but I'd like to try to transfer some of that time over to SW since it feels far more, well, nourishing. A bevy of supportive women writers! My daily struggle is that time is of the essence. I don't have a baby sitter, and pick up my 8 year old kid at 2:30 everyday, so this leaves me in crunch mode during the day.

I'm working on two assignments right now, and am pitching far more than that. My formula seems to be that if I don't have 12 solid pitches out, I'm not working enough.

So fellow magazine writers-- how many pitches do you need to have out there in order to be working steadily?

Drop me a line and "friend" me! I'm your new neighbor!

A bientot,

Rachel
