Query POV
Looking for some opinions here.  Do you think that it's okay if you write your query from two POVs, or do  you think that one POV is a no break rule?

  • Huh.  It's impossible to say "that would never work."  I'm just thinking it's a tight space (one page) to pull it off.  Maybe if it came off jarring, that's why you got that feedback?
  • I mean the POV of two characters.  I wrote a query I thought was really almost there but then I got feedback that it had two POVs,  but is that good or bad?

  • I have written my query letter from both third person and first to see which worked better. I found that very helpful to do.
  • Which two POVs do you mean?  Two characters, or the use of both 1st and 3rd to describe the author/work?
  • The only rule for queries is to keep 'em short (3-4 paragraphs, one page) and grab the agent or editor's attention through a compelling micro-synopsis of your story, including mechanical info like how long it is, and whether complete.
