This week marks the first publication anniversary of my memoir Professor Cromer Learns to Read: A Couple's New Life after Brain Injury. I've been running through the usual hand-wringing evaluation of which promotional tactics worked, which underperformed, and which I still haven't tried-but should have by now. To honor the many wonderful opportunities that came from writing the book, I'm switching from being so hard on myself (for a few days), and celebrating with a birthday cake. Makes me wonder-How do other writers mark the anniversaries of their pub date?
