How do you know who your audience is?  I thought my audience would be people in life situations like the characters in my stories, average people with a few crazy, insurmountable problems to color their existence.  But my reviews are polar opposites.  Should I pitch to anyone in particular or just let the chips fall where they may?  For an indie only at it a few months, I think I am doing okay, but the more okay I do the more I want to do better.  I am satisfied with my numbers and the reactions to my promos.  Just puzzled by the polar opposite reviews. Or is that the order of the day, the nature of the beast?
