Hi everyone, I'm Marie.  I'm a freelance writer but have also been working on two novels for the past few years.  I will be submitting mine as soon as I check over my first 2,000 words to be sure they're just as I want them.  Thank you to She Writes for this contest! :o)

I posted my submission to the competition on Thursday but haven't received confirmation that it's arrived safely. I have paid the $15 but am not sure my photo appeared properly in the email. Would that cause the submission to be rejected? Or am I just being paranoid?

I have the same concern; I couldn't get my photo to copy in my email body, so I sent it as an attachment. Would love confirmation that this is OK, or not.
Hi KB.  Check your spam folder.  That's where I found my contest entry confirmation.  I believe you will be informed if your submission is incomplete.   Good luck!
Thanks Margaret, I checked the spam folder but it was empty so I've emailed the address given at the bottom of the FAQ section. And thanks, Vicki, for your advice. I was afraid to send the photo as an attachment because the rules said no attachments but that was probably better than not sending it at all. There's a square where the photo should be and sometimes it appears when sent so I am resting on a wing and a prayer. Hoping that if the photo is the only problem they'll give me a chance to try again.

Hi KB,

I've had the same issue.  I have not received any kind of notification confirming receipt of my submission, which included the $15.00 fee and all the other requirements, except the photo which I could not insert into the body of the email.  I checked my spam folder as well.  Did you ever receive a response to your inquiry about this?

Thanks and good luck,

Natylie

I had forgotten about my thirteen-year old novel until I realized, adrift and despondent in my travel trailer one freezing Rocky Mountain night, that I was actually living it.  How does one forget that one has written a big old novel?  I was a writer in denial of being a writer and had blocked it out.  No longer in denial, I work regularly as a ghostwriter on www. guru.com (join!) and have revisited my prescient pile of pages. I wish the ending was different; my beloved protagonist does not find ten million dollars in an envelope.  Nope.  But there's still time for a rewrite.

Hi, everyone. I'm Monica Epstein, a technical writer hoping to be a published fiction author. I submitted the first 2000 words of my first novel A Showdown of Wills.

When Michelle Loeser accepts a company transfer from New York to London, the last thing she's looking for is romance. Her focus is on rebuilding her confidence after the breakup of her twenty-year marriage. But when she finds herself falling for British actor Will Sheridan, who's young enough to be her son, she must choose between conforming to society’s mores or following her heart.

Hi Jennifer. I love the premise of your novel...very interesting!

Hi everyone!  I'm prepping my cover letter for the contest now and looking forward to being part of this new opportunity!  Most recently my MS made it to the Semi-Finalist (top 50) round in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest and since I've done some significant editing.  I'm hoping to get this baby through!  Nice to meet you all and good luck!

Jess

Hi Jessica.  Making it to the top 50 in the ABNA contest is really something.  Good going.
Thanks, Margaret.  I was truly shocked as that contest went on that I kept passing to the next round.  It gave me a huge confidence booster.  I have high hopes for this novel and the ones to come!
