Nice to see what everyone is working on/entering! I'm going to enter the first bit of my dang-near-completed first novel HIGHWAY TO HELLA. It's about three girls in their mid-twenties, taking a road trip from San Francisco to NYC in the summer of 1995. Gonna give the first section one more buff & polish, get a decent synopsis pulled together and send it in next week. (Love the quick deadline & turnaround on this one ... no dilly-dallying!)
GREAT title, Jenny! I always say that "title is vital" . . .
Aw, thank you! Gotta say, "Ivy Beleaguered" is pretty catchy too. :)
Hi Jenny, Good Luck....Just wanted to let you know that when I viewed your post...at the same time...a song came on the tv...with ...."Life is a Highway...".not sure if you have ever heard it...but I thought that was a sign enough to post a comment for you to wish you the Best of LUCK.   I will not be entering but very excited for all the novelist who will be...I write pure non-fiction....and have written a memoir...and also a photo journalled (lovely quotes)  manuscript about finding Love Hearts in everyday life (happening for about 3 years)....So many others too that I have researched find them too.  Feel free to check it out on facebook Debra Shawcross Farmer Love Heartrs Found.  Deb
Thank you for the sweet note ... I'll take it as a good omen! :)

Hi, my name is Margaret Duarte.  Today, I entered my novel, "Between Now and Forever," in this exciting contest.  My logline:  "Will taking on a class of thirteen-year-olds described as impatient, resistant, tuned-out brats be a brave leap into teaching, or professional and emotional suicide?  Substitute teacher, Marjorie Veil, is about to find out."  Thanks, Kamy for your support.  What a generous thing to do.

Best Wishes to you Vicki...loved how you received the email....at the right time...the Universe working how it should be MOMENT.  Deb
Thank you, Debra! I, too, primarily write nonfiction--but my IB demanded to be (as a memoir veiled in fiction to protect the guilty?  ;>)
Ahhhh...that is perfect. :)
There is a Discussion about Memoir...deepest truth...you might like to check it out and add those comments there.  Trying to get to the bottom of the question I have posed there.  Thanks, Deb

Hi again Vicki

Want to wish you good luck on your entry.

Susan

Exciting to see all the different creative endeavors going on here.  I entered the first 2000 words of my novel in progress, "Between Worlds."  Please feel free to see my profile for more details about me and my work.

Good luck to everyone and thanks, Kamy, for extending this wonderful opportunity to all of us.
