This interview came out yesterday in New York Family Magazine. In this post-Sandusky era, I thought it would be a perfect piece for The Today Show to pick up. It seems we are all busy reporting on the bad stuff happening to the world's children, but few are addressing how it can be prevented. And it can be prevented. Below is a piece I did for ABC years ago. Any suggestions on how to make The Today Show happen now when we need it the most? The piece I am pitching is called "10 Things Child Predators Don't Want You to Know". I am thinking of coming up with a recipe that I could cook while I give tips on how to keep our children safe. Seems everyone likes a good cooking segment. Something to sink their teeth into. Any suggestions on what I should make? All recipes welcome.

Jill-
I don't have any ideas popping into my head, but I did discover that April in Child Abuse prevention month. Maybe you can use that as your hook. As far as recipes . . . I'll have to think about that one.
Maybe a 10 ingredient salad or dish? Ooh I know, you could have 2 parallel recipes one good one bad, showing how a little thought and planning (prevention) goes a long way towards success. No, wait. I've got it. Show what happens when you decide to make, let's say brownies with the ingredients you have on hand. No baking chocolate? substitute chunks of dark rye bread (hey, it's brown isn't it?). Low on sugar? use salt-it's grainy like sugar. You get the idea. In the end you show that you don't get the desired results unless you prepare ahead of time-in baking by having the correct ingredients, in life by having good solid information.
Hope this helps!
Just a thought.
