Lara,

I have a plaque on my refrigerator with the words "If you can dream it, you can do it" printed in bold, black letters.

Every morning, when I pour myself a cup of coffee, I see those words and they serve as inspiration to me - even, especially, on those days when it feels like my feet are stuck in quicksand and my writing career is moving way too slow. Keep the faith!

Wonderful post on your website Lara. What's funny is no matter how many times those utterances are uttered, it's amazing that there 'will always be someone there to discourage you.' Of course, I sometimes get annoyed with 'blatant' naysayers, but if you step back a sec, it's really kind of humorous.

I tell everyone, and anyone striving to accomplish endeavors to always remember it's a journey, full of highs and lows, bumps and triumphs, which your job is to relax and have fun. If it's meant to be, it will be, and if not... at least you had fun!!!

I've been playing about with the various "flash fiction" offerings about... just a focus and a break from the 'usual stuff" that I am struggling with at the moment. 

Most recently ( and every sunday through early August ) Writer Unboxed is doing an open call for 250 words of original fiction based on an image they post.
