Thank you for stopping by my blog! I'm glad that you did. I have never Skyped, I know I'm behind the times :), but sounds like a good idea. It's a great way to get to know each other, and we could all use some friendly critiquing now and then. I look forward to your upcoming email.

What a great idea! The only thing is, why Skype? It is limiting for those who cannot attend at that time. I had done a contest on Midnight Madness (NYCMidnightmadness.com? - I think!) and there was a forum in which we each posted a story, and then each of us could read the stories as our time permitted, and give critiques. the critiques piled up for my stories as comments on my post. I have no idea how to set that up, but it seems like it works just like this reply to your post works here. The beauty of it was that the critiquers could do their critiques as they had time - which gave many more critiques than possible on a set time venue. I learned so much from the process - so I love this idea. I would not be able to do it at the time specified though.

Hi. I'm Francelia Belton. I joined She Writes and The Short Story Writer group awhile ago, but I never introduced myself. I stopped writing for the last 6 months, but I've recently picked it up again and wanted to connect with other short story writers. :D

Hello Everyone,

I'm a journalist beginning my venture into creative writing. I'm using my personal blog - www.myjournie.com - and a blog project - www.reTyped.com - to exercise my writing chops. Please stop by and let me know what you think!

I love short stories and would like to start getting a few of my own out there next year. reTyped is a project I've wanted to do for a long time - short narratives of people to show how stereotypes can be incorrect and harmful. Those short sketches are helping me get into the habit of writing short.

I'm looking forward to learning from this group and the work everyone is producing.

I'm working on a collection of short stories, many that I wrote years ago, and some that are excerpts of a multiple-view novel that I'm working on that have been adapted to stand alone. I'm finding it fascinating how a chapter that I'm revising into a short story takes on a life of its own and goes places it wouldn't have left as merely a chapter. Fun stuff.

Hello everyone! Nice to meet you all. I am an author, editor and composer, currently living in Surrey, BC. I work for MuseItUp Publishing, a Canadian ebook publishing house out of Quebec. My short story A Hallowe'en Tale was published in October of last year.
