This was the subject of a two-part blog I recently posted...with the first half, called "
Blogging is Dead...In Case You Hadn't Heard," on my Story Circle Network blog and the second half, called "
Is Blogging Dead…and Should I Care?" on my Women's Memoirs blog.
I hope you'll read both and add your thoughts to the discussion...either below or on either of the blog sites. Which ever way you choose to participate, I'll find your thoughts and most certainly respond. I posted a similar discussion on Linkedin and the discussion was quite animated.
Obviously, I don't believe that blogging is dead, but I do think there is an evolution taking place as the initial thrill is gone and the task of blogging proves to be real work. I think it's turning into a platform for real writers--whether trained professional or citizen journalist.
Furthermore, I quarrel with those who think that other social networking tools and services are stealing people away from blogging. Social networking, in my opinion, is the means to bring readers and followers "home" to your blogging platform.
I hope you'll join in the discussion.
