I am working on a blog post highlighting some important take-aways from last night's salon on Social Media for all of our new members to share and benefit from. But if any NY salon members are here and would like to chime in with the advice, ideas or conversation most memorable to them from the evening, that would be great!

I just had an awesome email exchange with Nancy K. Miller, my co-salonniere:

Nancy: Gina said last night that some web activity was like your grandmother sending you clippings--was that blogging or twittering...?

Me: Both, really. Twitter is like your grandmother telling you to look at an article. Blogging is like your grandmother sending you the article and including a note with her thoughts about it.

Please share your thoughts about the evening here! (Blogpost from me coming tonight after my boys are in bed.)

Kamy, thanks to you and Debbie for including me in last night's event. I found it useful and interesting, since just in early April I jumped into so many of the social media with both feet, starting at square one (I'm not sure that I go along with the analogy of Twitter being like your grandmother sending clippings, though . . .). It was awesome to be in the same room with so many accomplished women.

Even though I don't live in NYC I'd like to try to come to more of these events. Looking forward to participating in SheWrites and hope to see you all again soon!

Hi Kamy!  Would you be interested in participating in a social media panel (for Social Media Week) for authors held in NYC Feb 15th? Email me at erin@pubslush.com for more details.  We would LOVE to have you!!!

Hi Kamy,

I'm a big fan of salons. I host a monthly salon for artists, writers, etc

Wondering if you continue to hold these and if you have more information about them somewhere?

Thanks!

Valya
