Thanks for the opportunity to share!

I have a new book out, stains: early poems by Lori A. May. You can find it at amazon.com or for a really great discount at Barnes & Noble. Plus, I have Review Copies available, so anyone who reviews on a blog, online, in print, etc can email me at lori@loriamay.com to request a copy. To learn a bit more about stains: early poems, I have a page dedicated to the book on my website.

Thanks for allowing me to share!

In honor of the new school year, beginning today and for the next two weeks, we are posting a series of “back-to-school” Writing Workouts/Lesson Plans at www.TeachingAuthors.com . While we hope these workouts will be of value to all writers, we’re sharing them especially with teachers (and homeschooling parents) in mind. Please feel free to pass the link along to any teachers you know who may be interested. And happy new school year to all! You can read the first post at:

I'm developing a series of poems inspired by my martial arts training in Japanese martial arts and was just thinking I'd love to read some other texts (of any genre) related to any facet of Japanese culture - and this books sounds like an excellent choice! I can't wait to check it out.

Last week marked the 10-year anniversary of my abortion. I write about my reflections here: http://aspenbaker.wordpress.com/2009/08/07/celebrate-with-me-new-po...
In the next month and a half (no certain publication dates yet) I will be starting a twice-monthly column on the weirdness, hilarity, and inherent conflict in being a feminist and a sex writer at McSweeney's Internet Tendency!
I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I am opening up my freelance novel editing services. I do this work for agents, for UCLA Writers Program and for private clients, and I've helped novelists get agents, get published and win prizes. It's work I truly love because it helps me in my own writing. I'm fast, thorough, warm and funny and if anyone needs someone to help them with their novel, character arcs, rhythm, plot, pacing, hey, I'm your woman. You can contact me t carleavitt@hotmail.com.
My Significant Object was published today. Small items with no intrinsic value are given meaning by writers and then sold, with stories attached, at Ebay. The Significant Objects project has attracted lots of intriguing writers.
