As I've mentioned before, my just released book, Goodbye Natalie Goodbye Splendour, is controversial as it tells of an account of the circumstances leading up to the death of the late actress, Natalie Wood. What astounds me, however, are the messages in the "comment boxes" that follow my Amazon.com reviews. I've rarely seen anything like it. Even with the latest Mackenzie Phillips release. Reviewers are trying to maintain peace with each other, but it gets out of hand. I just thought my fellow writers and authors here might want to see what can happen when your book deals with a tough subject, even after you did your best to dot all i's and cross all t's. I just signed a contract for a devotional to be published in "Faith & Finance: In God We Trust." This will be my third devotional to be picked up for print publication, and I'm very excited.

I will be teaching a free workshop called, Writing Your Life at the West Hollywood Book Festival on October 4th, 2-3:30 and I'd like to invite any locals to attend! The description is below:

Are you interested in writing memoir, but have no idea where to begin? In this mini-workshop we will discuss the basics of memoir, memoir structure and the relationship between truth and memory. If you love writing prompts, then follow this link to Women's Memoirs. Today we posted a guest blog by memoirist Leslie Gilbert-Lurie. Her new book, Bending Toward the Sun, is about lessons passed and feelings learned from her mother Holocaust survivor Rita Lurie. Leslie believes some of these feelings (as well as determination to survive) have even been passed along to her daughter.
It's an inspiring book, and her guest blog helps you stay focused and true to your passion when others comment, critique and discourage.

Leslie ends her blog with a nice blog about memoir writing. It's good stuff.
