Almost two years ago, I decided to subscribe to an online upload service to back up all my stuff. It took about 18 hours to upload everything on my computer. A week to the day later, my hard drive died. I ran down to the local computer repair place, got a new hard drive installed, ran home and downloaded all my stuff. Was I happy!

The first service I used was with HP and I loved it. So HP quit offering it. Now I use Mozy and it's okay. The cost is absolutely a bargain at about $5.00 a month, but it's not quite as user friendly as the HP version was. So I wonder if anyone uses a similar service that she's very happy with.

Also, does anyone use Windows Live or Google Docs and upload your writing to it? Any comments pro or con?

A woman in my writers group uses Google Docs and is very pleased with it. I have a Mac and keep all my documents on iDisk, as well as Time Machine, an automatic downloading system with wireless hard drive. I can read (not edit) everything on iDisk with my iPhone. The iDisk is part of MobileMe, which also includes syncing between computers and iPhone and a rinky dink web server and costs $100 a year. One iDisk folder is public and is great for sending large files (I do layout and have to deliver massive InDesign documents to printers.)
Thanks, Skipper. I'm a PC, but I have ITunes on my computer so I'll see if any of the other iStuff you mention might be options. Cheers.
