Thanks Joyce, I'll keep working on the subtitle.

If you have any suggestions, so send them my way. I'm all ears. My comment above to Teresa clarifies the central issues.
I'm sure you thought of this one and it's not flashy enough, but what about Holocaust Librarian?

Yeah, I like The Beloved Profession, but when you add the rest it doesn't sound as catchy to me.
Julija, I wouldn't use Holocaust in the title or subtitle, if it was me.
I like: The Beloved Profession
A Story of Rescue, Redemption and Freedom

(or something like that)
Yeah, I kind of like that. The blurb on the back could include Holocaust hints.
The Beloved Profession trumped the rest of words in the title..you had me wondering what it meant...I was even more pleased to find out and would read more.
like title two : I would buy this book just for the title and possibly inside flap
Beloved Profession has some nice resonances...
maybe something like Hidden Among the Stacks: The Librarian Who Saved ???[or Rescued]. . . . or : Hidden in the Stacks: A Librarian's Letters From the Holocaust
I really like your suggestion, Emma. I also like the Holocaust Librarian.
Alright, I'll post again.

The novel in all it unreliable glory: Shiny Red Plastic Men from Mars.

Then there's the memoir, that's more likely to be written, takes it's title from the blog that gave it birth: Penny Jar: A heads up on being at the tail end
Both titles would get my attention.
I agree!
