My personal goal for November is 30,000. So today's ike every day, is 1,000 words. Tell me your goal and meet me here by midnight to share your results.

My computer was not working for the last few days, but now it is up and running!  So I finished proofing the edtis from the editor I hired and from my Dad.  Next job is to ask my brother (the computer wiz) to show me how to convert a word doc into a PDF and then see what else Createspace wants or needs.  Later,  EJ.

Wow, Serena!  That's such a great goal.  I was thinking there was no way I could do that, but I just checked my word count and it's at 12,000.  I want to set my goal to 2,000 words today, but I will be doing some editing, so I'll be lucky to get there.  I forgot to post yesterday; it was 2 a.m. before I got that blog post done....one of THOSE days.

I'll try to be back at midnight, Serena :)

I started reading Susan M. Tiberghien's One Year to a Writing Life yesterday, and there are exercises to help release your creativity in different types of writing. I'm really looking forward to it. I dug up a never-used journal I'm going to use for it. My goal is to get through the first chapter today with some good journaling.

Today's been fantastic! It's flowing!!  I have some concerns about where the plot is going...trying to surrender it.

My goal for today was two-fold: (1) At least 2k, my daily goal, which I've missed each of the last three days and (2) cross the 25k plateau.

I'm pleased to say I was able to do both.  I wrote 2,376 words and my overall total is now 25,106.

Congratulations Patricia!

It must feel great to be back on track.  These are hard goals, hitting them is truly wonderful.

Over 25k wow.  Keep it up, how does that compare to your projected size?

Thanks, Elaine!  I'm in for the 50k this month, although if I meet my target of averaging 2k per day, I should finish with 60k or more.  That's pretty good for what I imagine shall be an 80-90k novel.  I'm going to keep writing past November 30th, at least every other day, until I'm done.  My bigger goal is have an entire draft done before New Year's.

Ah thats a great goal, you're like me!  Although I'm not sure I'll meet the New Years Deadline at this point.  Best of luck, I hope it keeps flowing for you.

And you, Elaine!  How are you doing?  Yesterday?  Overall?

I ended(at 11:40) at 20527.  I'm hoping to blow past the 25k mark myself today.  Actually I'd like to reach 30k if I can focus for enough hours to get there, but thats more a wish than a goal.

Good for you!  Wow, a 10k target...  Can't even allow myself to imagine such.  But I do stretch on the weekends.  Last weekend, I doubled my targets to 4k.  Made 3k+ each day, and that was good enough for me.

"Alison - check out She Writes Query Critique v 2.0 group. I've gotten good feedback there in the past. Also, Agent Query Connect is a great source too (but be prepared to pay it forward there and offer others critiques in exchange for your own)."

"Meg, great news!  Congratulations!   Now, on to query letters... do any of you know of or have a "query critique" group?  I'm on my fourth draft of this bad boy and have recently had it picked apart by a prominent agent…"
