Permalink Reply by Katheryn Gallant on November 1, 2011 at 8:30pm Hi! I'm doing NaNoWriMo and my goal is the minimum 1667 a day. So far (it's 8:30 PM Pacific Time) I've done 2140. I'm doing an alternate history -- a political romantic thriller set in 1953 Paris called Come to Me.
Thanks Kamy!

Permalink Reply by Alyson Miers on November 1, 2011 at 8:39pm Hi, everyone!
I think this is a great idea. I'm going to try and write a few words a day, too. Not sure where to start, or if I should just pick up with one of my (several) works in progress. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the encouragement!
Happy writing to all! :)
Yargh! I haven't started, and we're almost on to the second day! I find I write in spurts.
My goals from now until Sunday night:
1) finish the story reviews I have to do (15 stories, plus a short comment on each. I'm not counting this but it has to be done)
2) Work on my WIP (I need another 10K or so words, but not sure I'll finish before Sunday)
3) A short story for a horror Xmas anthology (probably 2500-4000 words).
So if I intend to reach my goal, I have to put out about 12 000 words by the end of Sunday. Wish me luck! :)
Glad to see everyone is rolling, even if some of us are a little behind!

Permalink Reply by Nichole L. Reber on November 1, 2011 at 10:26pm Hey, grand idea! I'm not a novelist but my goals are like yours: 500 words a day, or progressing an essay from the prewriting to the composing stage, or writing a blog post, or submitting a story to half a dozen publications. Today I had writers block something fierce. It was a matter of having too much content and no particular avenue for structure or outlet. All the NaNoWriMo talk on Twitter and SheWriMo talk here, combined with some coping skills I'm learning to combat writers block, allied to help combat the plague. I got almost 1000 words done on an essay plus a blog post of 500 words or so. Phew!
Good luck to everyone participating.
