SheWriMo: She Writes November Writing Challenge, NOVEMBER 1ST

Hi all!  My goal for today is to reread and edit the first two chapters of the novel I am working on, and then to write 500 words. (I have my writing group tonight so I will be reading and giving feedback on other writers work, which will cut my afternoon a little bit short.)  What's yours?

Congratulations is too small a word ... I'll try this one ... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

.... been there, know what it feels like ... is it off to the submission process/torture chamber next?

Thank you. I'm waiting on the final approval from my daughter (my toughest critic) then off to the editor. I'm self publishing this one.
Good for you!!!
1816 today. Can't seem to build a buffer but I'm holding steady.
Okay, I'll be honest -- I didn't finsh a post today. But i did write part of a blog post story, the beginning of a nonfiction post, and came up with ideas for two other posts. So that's something, right?
Goal 3000 - accomplished 2503. I guess that's okay because I'm still ahead of where I need to be for Nano (7513 so far)
My formal NaNo goal was to write 1667 words today, which I did (I've written 1758). However, I hoped to get to 6000 words today, and I did not. However, I am at 5543 words, which means I am over 500 words ahead today. But considering that I slept from 5 AM to 5 PM and then had a church meeting from 6:30 to 8 PM, I think I did pretty well.

well my goal today was to go into Waterstones (a bookshop chain) to ask if they'd stock my books as I'm a local author. To cut a long story short, they said no in a snooty way. My books (a contemporary drama and a historical romance), were 'not the sort of thing we stock here' ??????

so feeling a bit down but I'm not going to stop writing my screenplay, based on the historical romance, or my WIPs.

Thanks for support yesterday x

Well! ... a pox on their housez!
Yes, thank you. They'll regret it when I'm rich and famous, won't they, hmph! ;-)

Hi, Catherine,

Sorry that those Waterstones folks didn't take on your book.  It's so tough getting a chance as an unknown.

Have you thought about approaching any college bookstores?  I have a self-published novel that I presented to several college stores, and two of the stores in the University of Tennessee, UT Martin and UT Chattanooga (where I went to school), are carrying it in the campus stores.  They have been really supportive.

I've made a few sales from it, and the exposure is always a good thing. Now that I'm back from deployment, I'm hoping to arrange a book-signing event with one or both of these campuses.

Also, maybe your local library or hometown library might be interested in supporting you.  I'm lucky that my cousin works at our hometown library, so I think I may have a good shot of getting my book in there, but who knows?

I know it's small time/small potatoes, but it's something.  Plus, any exposure is better than none.  And who knows where it could lead?

Good luck!

Those are good ideas Regina, I shall look into them. I can see some research time coming up, which I like doing :-)
