SheWriMo: She Writes November Writing Challenge, NOVEMBER 1ST

Hi all!  My goal for today is to reread and edit the first two chapters of the novel I am working on, and then to write 500 words. (I have my writing group tonight so I will be reading and giving feedback on other writers work, which will cut my afternoon a little bit short.)  What's yours?

That sounds great.  Best of luck!  I was surprised to get a response from my school bookstores, since I'm self-published, and they are Barnes & Nobles Stores.  Didn't think I had much of a chance of even getting a reply.  To be honest, I almost didn't send them the emails requesting that they consider my book, but I'm glad I did.  Apparently, they have some kind of system where they can buy a certain number of books, and if they don't sell after a period of time, they can send them back, and not lose money.  If I can find the old email about how they chose to carry my book, I'll share it here.

Someone reminded me that if I never ask, then the answer is always going to be no; so now I take more chances and hope for the best.  :)

Yesterday I didn't meet any of my goals because I had so much studying to do but I knew that I had four days ahead of me and could catch up.  It didn't help that yesterday I had a headache that I simply couldn't get rid of even after taking OTC medicine.

Today I woke up with a low grade fever.  Well, that explains the tenacious headache.  It also throws my intentions of catching up slightly out of whack because I have to study seven chapters by next Tuesday and play nano-catch-up on my lost day of writing.

We'll see if my body will allow me to do anything I had hoped to do today.

Today I'm determined to finish editing my manuscript. Then I want to work on a memoir about my grandmother who inspired my first published book, Rachel's Secret. Happy Friday!
Yesterday fell by the wayside :( however today is a new day. Five pages to edit redraft coming up!
I fell short of my time goal yesterday. I notice some others had trouble as well. My strategy of postponing everything else in my life began to break down! Maybe this experiment will help me find a way to maintain a more rigorous work pace over time. Today I hope to meet or exceed my goal, but also plan to set aside some time to deal the most critical items on my non-writing to-do list.
Thanks for the encouragement after my post yesterday.  (I was having just a lousy day - it happens.)  So today, I've already revised a flash fiction piece and sent it off to some friends.  Rather than overthink, I'm working on just do.
Did it! Six pages not five. Why is sitting down and opening it the most difficult part? Happy Friday!
Goal is still 1667 and today I did 1937 which is great for me. Holding steady with a total word count of 7253 which is amazing for me. Now I'm about to turn back into a pumpkin. This would be a whole lot easier if I had some staff.
Good for you!!!!

I love this discussion. I'm excited and encouraged by all the writing goals so many of you are accomplishing, alongside heavy demands on your time and energy. Amazing. Thank you for sharing.

I'm also buoyed by the honesty of others who have had days when goals are not met. I agree with those who have said that goals are best addressed one day at a time. Rather than reflect on results of the previous day, I try to move forward with the new day God's given me.

For my part, I'm challenged by health issues. As a bottom line goal, I write a twitter tale and post it everyday, but I haven't succeeded in that the last couple of days, until today. I hope next week to immerse myself in editing my novel. Though it didn't happen this week, each day brings another opportunity.

My goal for the day is to do a daily labyrinth writing postcard and a daily poem for the November PAD, and to write one of 17 more entries for news from a small town 2011 - stories and poems that could be true.

Intriguing ... what's a daily labyrinth?
