I did it I did it I did it!
i caught up with my schoolwork and I was looking over the rest of my studies and I realized that I could do it. I could sit down tomorrow, study, and have time for writing and . . . maybe if I could catch up on my schoolwork I could also catch up on my word-count/writing.
Then I walked into class today and the school admin announced that the course that follows the two prerequisites (and I'm currently taking the second prerequisite) is no longer going to be offered and basically I signed up for a specific course that no longer exists so I can either sign up for the courses they now offer, none of which require the prerequisites, or go somewhere else.
I'm going somewhere else tomorrow--the admin's office where I will demand my money back.
And oh boy! This means I'll have a lot more time to catch up on my writing. Woohoo! (It also means I have to find another course but that can't take as many hours to do as studying did.)

Bravo, bravo!!!
Thank you.
This morning I hit the ground running and researched schools to see where else I could go to get the same training. I have stacks of information to sort through and some decisions to make. So I know some writing is on my horizon and not too distant one even.

Permalink Reply by Katheryn Gallant on November 11, 2011 at 1:27am Another miss: Thursday I wrote 268 words and am now at 14,282 words total. Yep, a bad cold during the second week doldrums can really depress one's word count. (Par is 16,666 words.) But I am glad that I wrote more than 100 words on my NaNo, which was my goal!

Permalink Reply by Katheryn Gallant on November 12, 2011 at 2:33am Thanks for the kind words! I think I will feel a rush of inspiration once this cold has gone. Friday I wrote 381 words and am now at 14,663 words total. (Par for NaNo is 18,333 words, I believe.) Well, at least I wrote more words than I did Thursday!
Permalink Reply by Ellen T McKnight on November 11, 2011 at 11:07am I'm pumped because I just realized something about my character that I don't think I would have if not for the crazy submersion of the past couple of weeks. Woo hoo. My eyes are bone dry, my hair is disgusting, and my clothes -- well, you get the idea. But I'm so happy! I'm not sure anyone will get that except my writer friends, so thanks.

Permalink Reply by Suzanne McKenna Link on November 12, 2011 at 7:13am I've been so busy with life and house stuff that I haven't sat down to write in weeks! My goal is to make time to assemble all the bits of scrap paper (my notes) and submerge them into my story line. I look forward to sitting down and getting lost in writing even if it's only for a short while…
Permalink Reply by Katheryn Gallant on November 14, 2011 at 1:11am Saturday I slept in most of the day, recuperating from my cold. I did manage to write 412 words for NaNo, however. Sunday I wrote 2426 words for NaNo, 1701 of them at a write-in. I am now at 17,501 words and am about 90% better than I was Wednesday through Friday. The cold put me about three days behind (the current par is 21,666 words): I was writing, but at a snail's pace. If I write 2000 words a day for the next three or four days (God willing!), I should be all caught up.
