To get another 2k done... *grins*
Just worked out I have been looking at the wrong page :( However, here I am. Had a very busy day today, but glad to report that I got back to writing my ebook after several weeks lull. Delighted with myself!

Today, I took a step back from my NaNoWriMo project to write on my neglected blog about … NaNo, and all the ways to boost your writing during the month of November, including #shewrimo.

Read: Look in Thy Heart, and Write

Will also do my requisite 1667 NaNo words and some client work writing, so a full day. Good luck to everyone.

@Courtney...Yep!Writing my first novel(god I love the sound of that)for NaNoWriMo,and I decided to write a historical adventure/romance non fiction book for "fun",instead diving right in with the Memoir I have been obssessing over for four years.Running into what are probably the usual dilemnas.I was relieved when i read that it is O.K. if my first draft sucks. It just might suck quite a bit.I really havn't had much time to read what I wrote yet.To be honest some of what I wrote was better than I remembered having written. Some of the stuff I wrote, I had not remembered writing at all !I have a three year old son,and a sixteen year old daughter, and I am still determined to bring in my word count.Gonna start writing now.Did not make my quota yesterday(not even close in fact, which was bugging me so much last night, that after falling asleep early, from shear exhaustion,I woke up at two in the morning and actually got up and started writing!)Determined to catch up,even if what I write ends up being unusable. That's the spirit, isn't it!?Happy writing she writers!
I am editing the first two chapters I wrote using feedback from my writing group.  I do have to say that with my butt in the chair for so many hours my back is hurting -- I'm going to need to get a better ergonomic setup!

Today I sent my MS off to my editor with a note saying that I didn't want to look at in anymore and it was now in her hands. Now I am going to work on my blog. I hope everyone had a successful day.

"What you cut and pasted here is pretty on par with what I think of as normal industry rates. SWP charges $60/hour for copyediting. Obviously this is a tricky space because it can get a little subjective, and some editors are helping authors and…"

"Here's a question for you, Brooke. On average, how much time, how many hours, does SPW spend editing - Developmental editing and Copy editing - the books that it publishes?"

Jane Hanser commented on the blog post 'What Indie Authors Can Do about the Book Industry’s Discrimination Problem'
"Thanks for your response, Brooke, and for clarifying. it's very difficult to self-judge ones own work/grammar. Even the best of writers cannot. And that assumes that all indie writers know all the rules of grammar and punctuation, which is a…"
