I am purchasing the book ‘Abortion Under Attack: Women on the Challenges Facing Choice.” By Krista Jacob, Gloria Feldt, and Rebecca Walker.
I’m interested in learning more about abortion, future generations, and the way society is taught to view women.
I want to know more about abortions and the role of men. Why are there men protesting at abortion clinics? Why is there a push by bishops to force a religious view of abortion into law? A religious view should not be law. What happened to the separation of church and state?

I bought The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker, the first book in a coming trilogy by young novelist Leanna Renee Hieber. Devoured it in two days - a delicious Harry Potter for adult women! :)

Okay, I just bought Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall, Sarah Waters', The Little Stranger and A.S. Byatt's The Children's Book. Yeah, I'm a sucker for the Booker nominees. Kill me! Recently read and enjoyed Janice M.K.Lee's The Piano Teacher TOO. And want to recommend the oldie but newie (now, the Nobel!) Herta Muller's The Land of Green Plums--hard, gripping terrifying.

I read Kamy's letter to my husband last night and he just shook his head in disbelief...then we got in the car and drove to Barnes and Noble! Only bought a few because of budgetary constraints (and a shelf full of great women writers at home already!): Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay; Queen Bees & Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman; The Magic of Ordinary Days by Ann Howard Creel; Up a Road Slowly by Irene Hunt; Buddhism for Mothers by Sarah Napthali; and Supernanny--How to get the best out of your children by Jo Frost.
I just finished Audrey Niffenegger's Her Fearful Symmetry (having been a huge fan of The Time-Traveler's Wife --the book, not the movie thank you very much) and loved it. See my review on my LA Hot Mom examiner page: http://tinyurl.com/yhdmnsc
