Visibility for Non-profit Organizations through Indie Publishing

"The only thing that will redeem mankind is cooperation" ~ Bertrand Russell
In places all across the country, there are so many n on-profits that are quiety contributing to the betterment of others and to the world, in their own special way. Many of these non-profits are unheard of by the "average Joe." With funding and grant opportunities being cut, it has never been more important for non-profit organizations to become visible and to demonstrate how tey are helping others fulfill their needs.

There is a way! To bring visibility and awareness to a non-profit, independent publishing can help. An independently published book or film may provide a way for nonprofit organizations to spread the word about their mission and obtain corporate sponsorship. Also, it is a creative way for others to learn and see how satisfying it is to volunteer for a worth cause, to increase membership by recruiting others who will commit to an exciting project or mission.

Independent publishing is a perfect fit for alternative marketing for non-profit organizations. Is your non-profit doing all it can to be recognized in your community and in our world?

Hi Sue,

How might an independent author go about partnering with a non-profit? My new book, 10 Things College Students Need to Know About Money, is a natural fit for many organizations that teach life skills (think foster care organizations) to youth.

Any thoughts?

PEACE,

Hi Amanda - This is a great way to build relationships in business (and writing is a business). Filmmakers can also advance their careers by producing films about nonprofit organizations and their missions. It is not Hollywood work - but that is a tough industry and just like professional sport, few make it to the top. But that does not mean a filmmaker can not have a very satisfying career doing other meaningful work. And you know what they say "One thing leads to another....."
