Hi Everyone,

After weeks of re-editing, Healing Inc. is now available in paperback on createspace.

It should be available in paperback on Amazon.com within the next 5-7 days and other outlets in 6-8 weeks.  Thanks for your support.

Going to check this out!

Hi, Deneice. Congratulations. Love the cover. Much success in your endeavors.

Nope... not new... just late!

Well, it's been a crazy couple of years... or more? Anyway, I thought I'd done this, and after strolling thru 5 pages, to my horror, I haven't. So here goes...

Hello everyone, my writer's name/pen name is Mercedes Keyes, yep - I write interracial fiction - historical and contemporary. I started writing at the age of 23 - after reading anywhere between 300 to 500 books - and it was due to a really bad one, that I finally sat up, came to my senses and realized that I should write - would write! That epiphany hit while I was living in Chicago, on the Southside, waiting for the clock to alarm that it was time to pick the kids up from school.

I started writing on a notebook, literally - a paper notebook and pen... this was back in the days of word processors - no personal computers yet. I certainly couldn't afford a word processor. So pen - ink - and a 250 page tablet was it for me. I had this story ideas on my mind. Webster Fields won the face-off between, Midnight Blue and Aphrodisiac. While WF has been written, a trilogy at that, as well Aphrodisiac - I still have not gotten around to Midnight Blue.

So far, all together - I've written 4 historicals, a contemporary and a drama series, The Beauty of Man and Woman. Bomaw - as it is called by many readers, so I picked up the acronym - and carried on referring to it as that. To this day, so far, we have 12 volumes of it, 350 pages more or less per volume.

Currently, my W.I.P is Flight of Fancy, another historical. You can check out the selections of what has been completed at Amazon.com -  http://tiny.cc/f6idgw

I've learned loads in this 26 years of writing - and still have loads more to go. Where I'm blessed as a writer, I have a partner, my husband - we started off as friends and him being very frank with me about my style. We got along so well, fought so passionately... literally... that we married. We have this something that clicks - and the formula is magical. Don't get me wrong, he's still a man, leaning back comfortably while I do all the typing, LOL - but - he's right on the money when we brain storm.

Thus... James & Keyes...

So here I am, 49 years old, black woman, born in Greenville, Miss. twice married, the second time - I did it right. I, Mother of 3 adult children, step-mother to hubbies 5 - and together, we have 14 grandchildren - and yet, we both need to grow up still, lmbo! Residing in Northern England, with a vast history or stories to write, and no time to get them all written, but we're going to go for as many as we can.

Curse of writing? Headaches, migraines, jacked up neck and back - and the worse thing for it all - sitting! Hahahahaha - that's it... sorry it took me so long. Glad to be here, I'm still trying to get my crap together while continuing to write. We'll see how well I do.

Hi All. And hi Stacy I finally joined. lol.

For those who don't know me my name is LaVerne Thompson. I write contemporary, fantasy and sci/fi romance with interracial characters. I also write romantic suspense under my alter ego Ursula Sinclair. I'm trying to spend a little more time online than I have this past year, but I also had 3 books released already for the year and I think maybe 2 more will be out before year's end so yeah, but talking to people and exchanging information and ideas is a part of writing so I have to leave my muse alone for awhile. But he/she is screaming bloody murder right now. lol

For more on my work you can check out my website http://lavernethompson.com links to other ways to connect with me are there along with some of my books. You can also go to my Author page on Amazon to find more of my works.

I currently have several works published with four publishing houses, but I've recently ventured out on my own and have self-published a fantasy work under Isisindc Publishing. Dragon's Heart-Story of the Brethren is my first self-published book and available on Amazon

Meanwhile I'm happy to be here and contribute to the IR community anyway I can.

Hi LaVerne, Welcome. What an accomplishment to have your work published with four publishing houses. Now you are self-publishing. Good for you. I will visit your page shortly. Congratulations and hope you enjoy your stay here.

Hi, I'm a MC author I have 3 full length novels published and several shorter works. I hope to network with this group. I'd really like to see some blog hops focusing on IR and MC romance.

Hi Andrea, an IR and MC romance sounds like a wonderful idea.

Working on my memoir, I've turned to many, many (many many, too many) books with tips on how to get started, organized, and inspired.  I also read a lot of what other authors say about the process and will share quotes here, as well.  I'll begin…See More
