I blog at 1st Books: Stories of How Writers Get Started, where I host guest authors (often award winners and bestsellers, but I love to host 1st timers, too) guest posting about how they got started writing or publishing on most Wednesdays, along with the occasional Poetry Tuesday. I also post about writing and publishing myself, and am currently blogging my way through the publication process of my third novel (The Four Ms. Bradwells, coming out from Ballantine Books in March), "The All-True Story of How a Novel Gets Published."

Hello all! Newbie here!

I blog at The Black Sheep Dances (www.theblacksheepdances.com) where I review and discuss translated fiction and global poetry.  I'm also a huge fan of everything Russian and Slavic, so I post discussions related to my studies in history and literature of the region.

I'm a full-time English major (former architect) working towards the goal of small-press publishing.  I write poetry, short stories, and have been working on a novel for about a year.  I also do research and citation for projects as a sideline, as I have access to multiple databases for research in most fields.

Writing and reading are my outlets for both creativity and stress relief.  Somehow, just putting the words out there is terribly freeing...

As far as personal details, I'm 42, and a mom of three boys (21, 17, 3) and my husband and I have been married 22 years.  We live on California's gorgeous Central Coast, which means lots of fog to inspire me with 'atmosphere'.  Life is never dull!

Sounds wonderful!!Glad to find your group here. I just joined it. I blog at Lessons from the Monk I Married. The book by the same title, about my 14-year journey with my husband, a former Korean Buddhist monk, will be published spring 2012 by Seal Press/Perseus Books! Nice to meet you here!!

Hi Katherine!

How are you? I loved reading your blog at Lessons from the Monk I Married. (lessonsfromthemonkimarried.blogspot.com) - You were so detailed and fun.

CONGRATS on being published. That's awesome. I had read a couple of excerpts and felt that something you wrote once just struck me and stayed with me. I can't remember WHAT it was. It was what was left with me. Oh I can't wait for it to come out.

Thanks Lara!

hello,

another newbie here.. I have been blogging about 7+ years. Been in the online & print world for 15. Mostly cut my teeth on the web before "social media" was a term. I helped innovate a lot of things that are now considered social media.

my blog iswww.LA-Story.com

I have books I have to write (4 in all-- 2 ebooks,  2 regular books which might turn out to be ebooks) , and one to edit

I write here, mostly about what I'm reading and writing at the moment. Sometimes I include informal reviews or discuss my work as a visiting poet in the schools. Often I mention what I'm doing around the house, such as cooking and feeding animals and shoveling snow.

I live in remote rural Maine and am the author of two collections of poetry and a prize-winning memoir. Currently I'm also associate director of the Frost Place Conference on Poetry and Teaching, held each summer at Robert Frost's home in Franconia, New Hampshire.
Okay, I'll repost my blog here: www.redroom.com/members/MBRead/

It's badly un-updated, as recently all my time and efforts have been going into planning a wedding. But! All the headache will be over as of next weekend, and the writing bug is eating me up! So I hope to have new content up soon. :)
