I've found a new place to publish essays: MORE.com

It's essentially self-publishing, but if the editors like your piece, they will "feature" it.

I have one there now: http://www.more.com/2051/9008-finding-forgiveness-on-facebook

Thanks for the link E Victoria. I checked it out and dig it! I love prompts and having a deadline. Perfect.

Mary Roy,

I know this isn't what you're asking about exactly, but it's a fun writing excercise: http://www.oneword.com/

Mary,
go to mediabistro.com
Even though the headquarters are in New York City, they have online classes, etc.

I have posted several essays on my blog - I am not sure if linking to them here is cheating since this is an essay list and not the blog list. . .please correct me if I am showing poor manners!

Can anyone direct me to sites with classes, workshops and weekly or daily writing prompts for personal essay?

It is important to share links to published work. It lifts all the essay writers up and shows them what is possible. When I get a note from one of my students on a publishing success I try to send it out to all of them. It provides that little piece of chocolate called hope.
