Funny Women

I want to encourage women to submit to humor venues. I urge you; I implore you. Let’s start a revolution and change the world’s mind about who’s funny. Your heart will swell with accomplishment and your breasts will become larger. This I promise.

What book are you most excited to devour this year?

When the President of the Piano Technicians Guild wrote in our Oct monthly journal that he loves to laugh, I sent him my book, "Ya Wanna Laugh?" I thought he'd get a kick out of it since it includes many humorous episodes that I experienced on the job a a piano technician/tuner. I was pleasantly surprised that he wrote about my book in the Dec issue. It occurred to me that as writers, we are concerned about marketing, how to make people aware of our book. Well, this shows me that there are marketing opportunities around us that we don't even think of. It never occurred to me that this man would promote my book in a publication that goes to every registered tuner in the country. It opens up all sorts of possibilities in marketing your work.

Illness can really put a damper on writing. It took a moment to find laughter, but I'm back and anxious to kickstart the ol' blog. If you have a moment, I'd love to see you. This piece is about saying yes to things that normally you might respond with a thunderous NO. Some fiction...and some chards of truth. Thank you!

Hi all!

I've been absent for a long while. Trying to get back into the swing of things with the blogging and writing. Sharing this one for anyone who's ever received advice they didn't ask for. (Or...for those giving it out)

3 Rules of Writing the Workshops Get Wrong

Writers are (often erroneously) taught to avoid: genre, sentimentality, and telling instead of showing. Unfortunately, this advice leads many writers astray. Here’s some further reading on why genre is not a dirty word, why there is a place for…See More

WWI

I wonder where you draw the line between historical fiction and more contemporary war stories? Would it be WWI? That's one war that interests me and in comparison to WWII I think it has been less used for fiction. See More
