Hi everyone! I live in Marion, Iowa, and I'm looking for a writing group that's as much about connections, marketing, and learning as it is critiques. So far I haven't had much luck finding something in the north central Iowa area. Anyone know of any great groups, clubs, etc? Thanks, and I look forward to getting to know you all:)

Hi, all. I hope I'm not too late to the party; I don't see many recent comments from this group.  I live just north of Iowa City in the beautiful town of Mount Vernon.  I have written for pleasure most of my life and just released an e-book (my first).  I'm curious to know if anyone has thoughts on the best way to market oneself and find an audience...?

Hello Iowa City writers!

I'm new to SheWrites and just setting up the tour for my upcoming novel, CHOSEN (HarperCollins, Aug 24). If there are any of you in a book club interested in reading mainstream womens fiction (themes of the novel include infertility, infidelity, adoption and extortion), I am offering a book club contest, 10 free copies of my book to book clubs interested in hosting.

Check out my site and contest: http://chandrahoffman.squarespace.com/blog/2010/7/30/book-club-cont...
Thanks!
Chandra

Hi!
Although I don't techinically live in Iowa City, I figure I'm close enough (about an hour and half away). Very excited to be here!

Are we granted one author's voice or do we have several over our lifetime? My thoughts here: http://megevonne.blogspot.com/

Meg, nothing definite yet - the grandparents are coming up this month for a visit. So far I know it won't be the end of June or the beginning of July...When will you be there?

When is it that you'll be in IA City this summer? I'm heading over for two sets of week classes. Maybe we can meet for coffee if they match up? Meg
