I'm new here and, despite 30 years experience writing for newspapers, still relatively new to the world of publishing. I'm curious about book trailers. I know they can be great tools for drawing…Continue

I didn't catch the webinar but I'm the host and producer of Catch That Book Radio (currently on break and coming back later this month). Rebekah, the absolute best way to prep journalists/producers is through your media kit. I've seen bad media kits and great ones. When I receive a request for an interview, I always ask for the media kit because it typically answers all of my questions. Have I ever read a book prior to the interview? Yes, if the author sends it out early enough. Most authors don't want to send out the copy and producers can typically get the information they need from research. Great idea for a group! I hope to collaborate more!

Rebekah, Your question is great. Sorry I don't have anything useful to add--I'm a newbie with my first book coming out early August. We need some experts to hop on over here and share their thoughts. Wait? Aren't you a guru in this area? l would love to hear what you have to say. Really enjoyed the webinar. Hope to see more conversation about this area. Best-Kathy

Hope the training was helpful for folks:) One of the most significant points that we didn't really dig into was how to prep journalists and producers on your book, because often they will not have read it!! Anyone have any tips?

"A standalone book app could cost $15,000 to $20,000." How about just a few hundred instead? http://dld.bz/a75x2

I shared a post titled "The Birth of the Diversity Blogs" today.  I wanted to share about the various cultures and peoples of the world and I figured that I should make that the theme of my blog.  :D Enjoy!
