Hello Everyone!

It’s been so long since I’ve interacted with anyone here.  I’ve been outlining two new novels I’m working on this year and I’ve also been working on keeping my online Magazine, Write 2 Be Magazine, going.  One of my main goals this year, aside from publishing new work of course, is to get involved with outlets that provide me with writing resources and with creative like-minded people to connect with.  So this is my first step to get back into the habit of sharing my work with others and get critical, constructive input on what I produce and the brand that I am trying to build.  I look forward to being back in the groups and networking with you all!

In the meantime please come and check out and submit to the magazine at www.Write2bemagazine.com and let me know what you think in the comments or on the fanpage at www.facebook.com/Write2bemagazine

Involved in an anthology with 4 other writers about our mothers' lives and how the times shaped them and in turn both they and societal influences created who we are as women. Would love to have comments from people about our project. Our facebook page is entitled Compassionate Journey:  Telling Our Mothers' Stores. Please visit us using the link:  http://tinyurl.com/gqfu88s.

"At the core of Five Sextillion Atoms is the never-possible love of my own mother for my daughter and my daughter for my mother. They met in this book as they could never do in life because my mother died when I was a child..." says poet Jayne Benjulian in today's interview up at Mother Writer Mentor; post includes 3 poems, including one about adoption. We welcome guest posts by writing mothers at all stages along their writing/publishing trajectory.

Ann L. Carter writes for us today at Mother Writer Mentor about her process of writing Spiders From Heaven: A Poetic Journey into Middle-Aged Motherhood as she raised her two adopted daughters (China and Vietnam) as a single mother...just one word at at time, gathering journal entries, emails, notes in binders and culling from them. Writing My Way to a Journey of the Heart

Daughter Marlene Samuels, PhD, encourages us to write down our stories for our children, and equally as important, for the public record and to set the record straight. Here's how she persevered to get her mother's Holocaust Survivor story to print. It took 18 years, but it was well worth it. Interview is up at Mother Writer Mentor: http://www.motherwritermentor.com/2016/05/03/a-daughters-persistenc...

Motherhood is our common context in this group. Lyz Lenz wrote an excellent post on The Rumpus which sparkedmy response here.

What context do you write from? Does it shift, depending on your project? But, like Lyz, the context of motherhood is a permanent state of being. I'd love to hear your thoughts. xoS

My latest book is a photo collaboration: 52 weeks in the life of the kids on our street in Maine. 52 photos and 52 stories. It traces the year in the life of kids and celebrates motherhood. Stop Here This is the Place: A Year in Motherland is out now and will be featured in Real Simple and Downeast Magazine in May. So grateful to you all for any support you can give the book.

BUZZFEED gave my forthcoming novel a shoutout. Which makes it all worthwhile. I cried every day at my computer. Still much help needed in the tsunami-affected areas, and we are doing what we can.  http://www.buzzfeed.com/farrahpenn/ya-novels-you-need-to-be-reading...
