In thirteen days, thirteen hours and forty-two minutes I will be sitting in the quiet of my kitchen, sipping my coffee and reading my favorite blogs. I am trying to enjoy the last few days of summer with my three active, loud, curious and energy-sucking children. (I guess I still have to learn how to do that enjoyment part better) Lately I've been thinking about lines, circles, paths and ...writing. Take a look at this post, and then I'd love to hear whether you look at writing in lines and rules (like a scientist) or in circles and swirls (like an artist)

Reflections on the many posts I've seen about breastfeeding lately.

Just Because You Breastfed Doesn't Make You A Better Mom Than Me.  It's The Other Things.  The Other Things Make You A Better Mom.

Pay attention because this took me four decades to learn, and that is, no woman, whether she is a size 0 or a size 24, is truly, completely, 100% happy with the body she is putting in her jeans

What kind of effect does the utterance of the word "divorce" have on a woman?

Please come read my humble attempt at flash fiction!

Hi Mommas. At Fertile Source, Hyperlexia editor Brittney Corrigan has poems, interview, on the challenges of bringing a second child into world, fears around autism, and discusses ideas for how  mother writer retreats could thrive in our future. Maybe we can work together to bring  some of her ideas into realilty.

Interview here: http://fertilesource.com/2011/08/an-interview-with-poet-brittney-co...

and poems here:

and as always, send us your artwork, poetry, fiction or nonfiction submissions on birth, labor, fertility! (tania@catalystbookpress.com)
