Where do you find the strength to carry on when life is challenging? A reader asked me how and where. Hefty questions for which the answer will vary depending on the person.

Today, I wrote about motherhood, economic class, love, and war:
Excerpt:
"... I’m against every single thing war entails. But I’m very much for Jay and his friends. And so, in the perfect world that inhabits a mother’s hope (even if the kid is your daughter’s boyfriend and not of your loins), Jay and his buddies will get their chance in life without hurting anyone … and without getting hurt. But the entire institution that may offer them that chance has hurt, killed, grieved millions.
So what does a mom who sings “Blowin’ in the Wind” do with that? What does a girlfriend who sing’s “Blowin’ in the Wind” do with that? What do the mothers in Afghanistan and Iraq and a hundred other places, who sing their own songs, do with that?"
