Hooray, hooray. Last year, I got overexcited at the start, so I kind of burnt myself out around 38K words and hit a writer's block. Doh! I managed just under 43K, and the story was more or less…Continue

I am hosting a daytime NaNoWriMo session--I forget what they are called--on Thursday morning (except Thanksgiving) from 10-12 at Congregation Etz Chayim, 4161 Alma Street, Palo Alto! You don't have to be Jewish!

Does anyone have any nifty NaNo tools?  How do you track word count or other objectives?  I would love to see what people have worked on.  I've upgraded a rev of the NaNo Report Card.

I joined NaNo for the first time last Nov and had such a wonderfully fun time. I'm in surprise Az and looking for people in my area to meet up with and write together if anyone out there is interested? I finished last year! Yay!

Karen & others I am planning on it for Nov as well. I tried to participate un June, but wound up in a tough course and didn't get to finish. Wasn't able to do it at all in Aug. Here's hoping for a lite course for november!

Thanks for sending me here, Karen!  I'm heading into NaNoWriMo with mixed feelings of excitement and dread.  As the poster child for the current economic crisis, I have a very full plate of survivial activities, so adding a big committment like this is just madness ... and yet, there I was, on autopilot, signing up!  (Still trying to figure out if that was my better angel, or my darker one!)

I'm participating in NaNo - my login name is chantellyb.  This will be my third year (I finished in 2010 successfuully even though it's not showing up under my NaNo record for some reason.)  If you want to look me up, we can be NaNo buddies.

I'm planning on doing NaNo for the first time in 2012. Would love to connect with others planning on participating. I'm also going to run a series of NaNo interviews on my blog if anyone is interested:

Has or is anyone using Bookbaby for publishing? I would be interested in hearing what you have to say about them.

The Mystery Writer as an Agent of Karma

I’m often asked why I choose to write mysteries, sometimes in a way that suggests I’m throwing away any writing talent I have. Mysteries are often deemed formulaic and crass, dealing with brutal crimes and unsavory characters and leading to a…See More
