So...looking for places to submit a new book for nature related writing contests (and actually know nothing about how this works). This is what I found so far- any other ideas? Or tips on how this whole process works? Thanks!

wonderful on all Page, thank you! I will definitely touch base when it's out. And I look forward to reading your book as well!

Yes, Shannon, that would be great.  I write occasional essays/book reviews on my blog "All Things Literary. All Things Natural."  http://pagelambert.blogspot.com/ So make sure you send me a note when North of Hope comes out.  You might enjoy my memoir too, In Search of Kinship: Modern Pioneering on the Western Landscape. It was a Rocky Mountain best-seller when it came out (hardcover 1996, softcover 2001). http://www.pagelambert.com/books.html.  Congratulations again on your contract!

Gary's a great guy - the whole literary community here in the lower West mourned his loss.  Feel free to send him a note and tell him Page said hello.

Shannon, North of Hope reminds me of my friend, author Gary Furguson.  Here's a graph from his bio:

Gary’s newest book, just completed and currently in production, is called The Carry Home. The work is a celebration of the outdoor life shared between Ferguson and his late wife Jane, who died tragically in a canoeing accident in northern Ontario in the spring of 2005...

Here's a link:  http://www.wildwords.net/about.html.   You might want to check out his memoir.  I sense some kindred spirits.
