Comment by Shannon Huffman Polson on July 9, 2012 at 10:27pm Hi ladies. Today is a pretty exciting day: I've just signed a contract for my memoir, North of Hope which comes out in March 2013 (Zondervan) about a river trip in the Arctic tracing a tragic journey from the year before. I hope you'll join me on the journey- it's been a very long time in coming and a lot of work ahead! Preorders are available here:
and I'd love you to visit my FB author page https://www.facebook.com/ShannonHuffmanPolson
Thanks for all of your continued support!
Blue Lyra Review (www.bluelyrareview.com) has launched! Please visit our site, read fine work by Marge Piercy and other authors, and submit your pieces! Issue 2 will be online in October 2012.

I’m now the interim nonfiction editor for the Blue Lyra Review, a new online magazine. We’re looking for a wide range of nonfiction (personal essays, memoir and creative nonfiction) and are especially interested in nature- or Jewish-oriented pieces. Check us out at: http://bluelyrareview.com
There’s a new kid in eco-publishing town: Arid – A Journal of Desert Art, Design and Ecology. Sounds fairly academic but they are also looking for shorter, “informal” essays. Don’t know if it’s a good fit for folks in this group, but here’s the link: http://socialmedia.hpc.unm.edu/arid/?page_id=14
Remember, I’m just the messenger…so, please no questions back to me.
Such fun to be profiled in yesterday's Denve Post for my nature writing retreats! http://www.denverpost.com/recommended/ci_20158320.
This call for submissions (see below) came in off ASLE and also H-NILAS. I checked it back to the publisher, and it's not clear to me if they're asking for full subs or queries.
I don't have any crow stories on hand and am busy with too many other projects, so that's all the legwork I've done on this.
Good luck with it.
Adrienne
