Comments, please, on possible book cover!

Here are two takes on the same cover idea for my WIP, Reflections. (The gorgeous photo is by Nick Carver.) I have the feeling the ideal would be somewhere in between, as far as the text goes. Comments??

I'm good with the one to the right, but it might help to lighten the photo a bit. The orange is kind of intense with the darker blue. It's like the text gets lost in the photo, kind of like trying to see someone's face who's standing in front of a bright spotlight. Good luck!
