Ellie, a crabby old woman cleaning off graffiti from her local mailboxes, meets Sarah, a mascara-ed Goth girl, and ends up not only swinging a bat at a serial killer but saving the lives of both Sarah and a long-lost son. Graffiti Grandma is a thriller at times, but more important, this tale is a testament to the importance of family, even for Starkey, a psychopath who yearns for children to call his own, although fatherhood means killing a few of them. The setting is a town like Portland, whose forests provide havens for street kids and the homeless, whose mailboxes bloom with midnight messages.
GRAFFITI GRANDMA is my fourth novel, the second that I've formatted as an ebook. One of the main characters is an old woman a lot like myself, obsessed with removing graffiti in her neighborhood. I don't know any psychopaths but it was fun imagining this one.

Her campaign threatens the firm chairman's goal of being named US Attorney General as stories of sexual harassment and discrimination are exposed. Only one of them can win.

My 3rd book being a novel has been a wonderful experience for me. As were the two previous poetry books namely; unnecessary poetry and moreunnecessary poetry.
My life as a white, female drug dealer is actually a story of hope. To send the message to the addict and their families they are not alone, nor do they have to be.
Not an easy read, but I believe a must read. It is through educating ourselves that we can give the best tools through knowledge for our children.
The character SKY here allows us to follow her demoralizing, violent and desperate attempt to keep using drugs. She left a 6 figure income executive global career to feed her habit through drug dealing. Consequences are not easy to swallow but hope and getting out equalizes the battle scars.
This novel is available in eBooks and softcover (all 3) through smashwords, amazon/kindle, createspace and LuLu
Thank you
Have a safe 24
Permalink Reply by Ute Carbone on June 17, 2012 at 10:56am My romantic comedy,The P-Town Queen was released earlier this month. It's a light flirty beach summer read.
Here's the blurb:
Nikki Silva feels like she’s blown up her life even as her brothers tease her about blowing up a boat called the Mona Lisa. Divorced, funding for her shark research cut off, she’s moved back to Provincetown to live with her father in her childhood home. Nikki hopes to regain herself. She’s written a grant proposal for the newly formed Massachusetts Bay Commission to fund a study that will get her back to the sort of research she loves. The commission is run by her ex-husband Ned, who would rather have a migraine than give money to his ex-wife.
Marco Tornetti wants to turn a hole-in-the-wall Newark spaghetti joint into a trendy bistro. His silent partner, Fat Phil Lagosa, wants to use the place to solicit questionable business deals. When Fat Phil accuses Marco of a double cross and has him taken for a ride by one of his hit men, Marco knows he’s in too deep.
Marco escapes the hit man and takes the first bus out of the Tri-state area, a bus chartered by the Greater Teaneck Gay Men’s Choir and headed for Provincetown. Marco figures that Phil would never look for him in Provincetown‘s gay community. But when he meets Nikki and falls hard for her, he finds that pretending to be gay isn’t as easy as it would seem.

This sounds fantastic! I'm already laughing from the blurb--the novel must be a hoot. I can't wait to read it.

Permalink Reply by Caroline Bock on June 20, 2012 at 4:51am My debut young adult novel, LIE, from St. Martin's Press is about the immediate aftermath of a brutal hate crime --a group of white teens who attack -- and murder a young man of color. Inspired by real events, set on Long Island, LIE is told in 10 distinct first person voices -- though the main dramatic arc follows the struggles of 17-year-old Skylar and Sean to tell the truth, break with their friends and community -- or lie.
