Novelists - published or not - chatting about beginnings, muddy middles, dang endings, what to do with it all. Please don't shout (all caps, big images) or post links on the main wall except as part of the conversation. Please do include modestly sized covers in "Our Published Novels"!

Gather for a real-tiime chat on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 EST for topic-based discussions about writing and publishing novels. To join us, just log into She Writes and click on the "Main Room" at the bottom right of your page. It will pop up the "Main Room" box, with the ongoing chat and a place to speak up yourself. If no one is chatting when you arrive, do just say hello.

Comment by Lynne Favreau on April 22, 2012 at 5:09pm Kathy are you referring to the conference Muse and The Marketplace? http://www.grubstreet.org/?id=173
They have dozens of workshops all year long.
Kathy, I've never heard of the Grub Street workshop. I'll have to go Google it. I'm going to a writer's conference next month, but it'll be my first ever, so I have no clue what to expect. Just what they've posted on the website. I'm hopeful about it, though. Have you ever been to the Grub Street workshop? What's it like?
Comment by Kathy Leonard Czepiel on April 21, 2012 at 7:04pm Is anyone going to the Grub Street workshop in Boston next month?

Comment by Jessica Vealitzek on April 19, 2012 at 2:59pm Just a follow-up to the She Writes badge saga on Wordpress: I emailed with the tech help and they said that badge can't be used because they remove JavaScript, Flash, iframe, form, and input tags for security reasons. Oh well!
Comment by Marilyn Bostick on April 19, 2012 at 9:52am I am dumbfounded today. I just received a notice from Down Right Fiction today that they are featuring my novel, Run. I published that in '09. I don't know if this is a blessing or not. I published that novel without knowing what I was doing. My family and friends helped edit it, but it is obvious none of us had a clue.

Comment by Teicha Hill Mailhes on April 14, 2012 at 7:49am I recently had trouble with a name for a character in my WIP and in my search found a name index from the Social Security Administration. You can search by state and year of birth for a listing of popular names - http://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/state/index.html
