My latest poem at Consider the Lilies is "I Can Carry Pain."

I can carry pain - And still wear a smile - The promise I’ll gain - May take a while - The road may be long - And my heart weary - But I’ll still have a song - My load He’ll carry - God knows my heart - The sacrifices I’ve made...

Hi poetry writers! I've posted 3 poems for Mother's Day and will post a couple more this week. "A mother is a person to cherish - Her love she does so readily lavish
She gives of her time to everyone - And a mother’s work is never done - A mother will sacrifice here and there - She’ll not withhold and will always share..." at Consider the Lilies. Tina

Loving yourself becomes the song of love to the Mother and the Father which gave you body and soul.

I listen now to the call of Spirit
in the sounds of the feral and untamed,

in cries for compassion from the lips of the living,
and on the whispering breath of the dead.

And so I wonder; would the “depressed” contemplate and plot their own escape from overwhelming sadness if they could be held and validated – assured that their tears make sense in a world where inflicting pain on a massive scale is sanctioned?
