I am a writer who is in the process of finishing my final revisions to my novel Last Words. A romance suspense book based in the California Napa Valley area. I've already begun promoting myself through my blog. There are a million avenues to take when it comes time to promote your writing. Blogs are everywhere about everything. How do you stand out in the crowd? What works to gain followers and keep them? I've started a wordpress blog it has recipes (see link below) and a drawing to win a prize. I'm also going to feature an article by Carole Ditosti a well established writer and blogger. She also is going to feature an article from me once it is ready. I'd love to hear you're feedback on my blog and learn what works for you. So far facebook, twitter, shewrites, linkin have been my resources for sharing my blog.

I also have put together a "friends and family" list of over 100, who I email each time I post a new blog.  Basically, SheWrites and friends and family has gathered me over 4000 hits since last April.  Shooting to release first book July 4th.  Still haven't had time to get active of Twitter and Facebook.  Self-publishing takes a lot of research = Time.

Today, I posted, PTSD . . . Can One Woman and Her Book Make a Difference? on My Uncharted Journey into Publishing My First Book, my memoir.  The answer lies within.

No time lately to read your awesome blogs, self-publishing inhales any free time, less than 4 months and counting.

Quotes, Memoirs, and Books on Writing I've Read to Avoid...Doing It

Working on my memoir, I've turned to many, many (many many, too many) books with tips on how to get started, organized, and inspired.  I also read a lot of what other authors say about the process and will share quotes here, as well.  I'll begin…See More
