If we love to write-why do we PROCRASTINATE?

As a passionate playwright, I cannot tell you the number of plays I have started and not completed. There are many roads to production of these and the plays I have finished. Yet, I have not attempted any of them except the "sure thing", the 10 min. play production festivals in my hometown.

Are they good plays? Of course I and my shampoos think so. However, my shampoos think I sing Opera very well so I'm not too certain about them.

Am I a very busy person?
Am I a very lazy person?
Am I Attention Deficit?
What other external or internal difficulties are there?

What say you? Any and all discussions on, about or avoiding this discussion are encouraged-whenever you get around to it.

We have more new members to this group. WELCOME ALL! I would love to say, Hey, to each of you and might get around to it eventually, but...Well, it is a group of procrastinators. Just know we invite your thoughts, encouragements, challenges, experience, etc, etc. Hopefully, we will all do better just belonging to a group like this.

Kari Wolfe has some very good articles on her blog about writing. I just finally got to it. Duh. That won't surprise anyone in this group I hope.

I have this problem, too. It is fueled by doubts that my writing will be published or read by anyone. I write to connect, not for catharsis, but I am hampered by the way the publishing industry operates. I write poetry, short stories, creative non-fiction, book reviews, and articles on mainstream and academic topics. But I can't get started until I have an actual assignment. Then I know I won't be writing in invisible ink. A blog that lots of people read would be a start but I don't know any and if I start one how will anyone know I'm there? Perhaps She Writes groups could start a blog for each group on which members could post writing for others to respond to. The feedback would be helpful and giving feedback helps your own writing too.

Hello everyone,
I joined a week or two ago and in true to my nature kept putting off introducing myself. This is an aptly named group for someone like me. I look forward to meeting you all and sharing insights.
