If we love to write-why do we PROCRASTINATE?

As a passionate playwright, I cannot tell you the number of plays I have started and not completed. There are many roads to production of these and the plays I have finished. Yet, I have not attempted any of them except the "sure thing", the 10 min. play production festivals in my hometown.

Are they good plays? Of course I and my shampoos think so. However, my shampoos think I sing Opera very well so I'm not too certain about them.

Am I a very busy person?
Am I a very lazy person?
Am I Attention Deficit?
What other external or internal difficulties are there?

What say you? Any and all discussions on, about or avoiding this discussion are encouraged-whenever you get around to it.

Vicki, sometimes even the bathroom is not a private place if your children are very small. But seriously, I use misguided guilt as an excuse too. Why? Why would I do that? It is only myself and my husband here. I use the fact that he is retired and interrupts me when the muse is the most active. Stupid me. I have plenty of moments and if nothing else, I can lock myself in the bathroom until my rear-end goes numb. (Of course-that is the time he can't find something and I can't tell him where it is.) Ah, well.

Hello Ladies. Anyone here have a moment (or a few, actually) to spare? I am looking some feedback on the 10th chapter of my YA Silent Voices. It is written from a omniscient third-person narrative, focusing on one or two of the for MCs feelings (or silenced voices) in each chapter

Silent Voices: Meet and Greet

I am slightly worried about the pace of things in my writing...the story takes place between September to March ( around 6 months), but I seem to be bogged down in specific scenes so far. Although I do have a few leaps in the middle, but it still seems to have taken a sluggish pace. Any advice?

When am I allowed to say "leave me alone" so that I can write? When can I shut off the world, my job, my family? Just for an hour or two...and do so without feeling guilty and selfish? Or, am I making myself out to be indispensable to others as an excuse to put off the WORK of writing? Aha....

I should be working on my writing right now, but instead, I am sitting here trying to figure out how to get my son to stop putting off doing his school work - and I realize, he has inherited my procrastination gene! He is a master procrastinator! But, I have noticed, like me, he does work well under pressure - so perhaps we procrastinate in order to create a looming deadline and therefore produce our best work!

What do you do when a gunman is spotted at your child's school? This is my TRUE story. It happened last month. First in a two-part series.
