Hi all,

I'm a regular contributor to PublishingPerspectives.com-

shoot me a message or friend me if you'd like to be in touch about trade coverage (and hey, I'm new to SW, so I'd LOVE it if writer gals would friend me!). They also have a new children's section, so keep us in mind!

Forgive me, but what exactly is "trade coverage"?  Does that mean news on publishing, or sales of trade journals (which I think are books about specific industries)?  Or books and ebooks that are part of the "trade" of book publishing?  If the latter, count me in.  Unfortunately I know nothing about the latter.

It can be about a lot of different stuff, but it would be best for you to tool around the site a bit and see if you think any of your projects could be a fit with the types of stories that i write. I do interview writers, but then write features about things like Twitter book parties, Kickstarter, new publishing platforms, and many more.

Here's a link to my stories:

Thanks for getting in touch!

Welcome Rachel - SW is a fabulous site and I'm guilty of not spending as much time here as I should! I'm attempting to improve on that. You are going to love the information and networking here with this great group.

Cheers!

Patricia

Thanks, Patricia! Looking forward to getting more involved.

I checked it out: great content!!  Really useful.  Thanks for the link.

hi Rachel!

i would love your thoughts on something i have been trying to do for quite some time with very little success.  (btw, i am enjoying your blog very much - I almost went to that De Kooning exhibit in NYC but wasn't able to make it - I am so jealous!)  I have been interested for quite some time in submitting women's health articles to women's magazines and I have done so twice and not gotten a response.  I am not sure what it is that i am doing wrong but I would like your advice.  I queried LHJ several years ago for an article on benign breast disease and last year sent a query and full article to Redbook on osteoporosis geared towards younger women.  i was thinking that both articles were too long and perhaps they didn't want something long from an unknown writer, but I am not sure.  if you have any advice, i'd love some, since doing this is very important to me.  thanks so much!

and also, is it possible to follow your blog on facebook?

Hi, Rachel, and welcome! My debut novel is due out in July, and I'd love to bat a couple of ideas around with you sometime. I'll send you a friend request. I had to laugh to see you here after reading your October piece "So Many Friends" just now. Hope you'll find SheWrites a valuable addition to your online community!

Thanks for reaching out! Would love to bat a few ideas around; send 'em my way. Not sure which piece you're talking about- where did you see it? Sometimes I write things and forget about them, or they show up somewhere long after the fact.

Glad to make your acquaintance!

R

Hey rachel, I'm new to SheWrites, too. I'd love to be added to your list. Karla

Hi Rachel, I am also new here so happy to become shewrite friends! I have checked and enjoyed Publishing Perspectives, great job! If you ever want to write about Galician literature or the literatures of "minority" languages in Spain/Europe (sorry but I refuse the term "minority" due to political reasons) just let me know! Wikipedia of all places includes a good article in English about the Galician language and you can see what I do at www.mariareimondez.eu
