Two weeks until the next workshop! A couple of new members, a whole batch of new writing... I'll send out a reminder/instruction email this week.

I hope all participants will invite new members. If our little community grows, I can afford to bring in guest teachers, and perhaps arranged master classes in the future. The new venue (Camillo's Cafe) offers more space....so spread the good word!

As a journalist it sounds good to me. I find because everything I do in journalism is supposed to be "fact based" I have a hard time switching to memoir and I resist writing details and quotes as I remember them because of a fear of being inaccurate. I say to myself "How do I really know that was how she said it when I was 8?" so then I leave it out...

I'm thinking of exploring writing through the senses and how to get rid of abstraction in our writing for next month's workshop. How does that sound to you?
