She Writes in California

It would be great to meet other aspiring writers, either journalists, bloggers or novelists. If we have enough people, maybe we can even hold group meetings and get to know each other even more.

Dave Letterman made a guest appearance on at my blog today. He and I drafted the top ten reasons (excuses) a writer should’t write. What are your excuses, I mean reasons that keep you from doing something you love? http://www.brendamoguez.com/writers-process/the-top-ten-reasons-not...

I did, but for the most part I found calling or visiting in person worked WAY better. Very few people responded to my emails, but almost everyone I visited took books on consignment or bought them.

Did you email all the bookstores in your area? Did you visit any of them?

Comment by Jennifer Richardson on November 25, 2013 at 7:00pm

Hi Rossandra,

the bookstore called me. I'm not quite sure how they got my number, but think it was either:

1) Me emailing them earlier this year asking them to carry my book

2) Registering for indies first http://www.bookweb.org/indies-first, which is helping team up authors and bookstores for small business Sat. It's a great opportunity for authors! Check it out.

How did you find out about this event, Jennifer? I wish I lived closer. I would love to see a pro in action!

This Saturday I will be at Bank of Books on the lovely old main street of Venutra, California between 1-3pm peddling signed copies of Americashire for Indies First / Small Business Saturday. Stop by and see me if you are in the area! Would love to talk books.

Well, life got in the way but I'm still posting on 30 days of forgiveness. Of course, I've figured out it's 30 days that won't be in a row. Gotta cut myself some slack. This has been a very difficult series and I am just now scratching the surface in exploring what it means to forgive so I can heal well.

Peer review and feedback means so much to me so comment away. Nevertheless, here are the links.:
