It would be great to meet other aspiring writers, either journalists, bloggers or novelists. If we have enough people, maybe we can even hold group meetings and get to know each other even more.

After the London Book Festival sent me two emails addressed to "Dear Entrant," I thought I hadn't placed and decided I should stop entering contests. I did, but for the most part I found calling or visiting in person worked WAY better. Very few people responded to my emails, but almost everyone I visited took books on consignment or bought them.
