I have just finished a website with the help of my friend, a webmaster, and I love it.  I don't know how many are visiting it at this point.  I am beginning to let folks know it exists, and have gotten very positive responses so far.  My friend started with one idea, bright colors, dashing borders, but I realized that was not my style, both in life and in my writing.  We ended up with five pages, excerpts of my novels, bio, picture, welcome, and my blog.  You might want to look at the site for ideas.  www.jobarneywrites.com.  And yes, I feel it was worth the money.

Good for you, Joanne.  Your webmaster can tell you how to check your statistics and find out how many hits you're getting.

Congrats. The site looks awesome. Not too bland and not a "knock you eyeballs out" kind of site either. It should treat you well. :)

Joanne, thanks for sharing your website. It's beautiful and easy to read. I really like how your webmaster created your blog to have the same look as your site. And I love the quote you have under your picture "It's never too late to be what you might have been." - George Eliot

FYI Joanne, you (perhaps with the help of your friend) can sign up for Google's free analytics (which most everyone uses). This tool provides incredibly helpful feedback in terms of who is visiting, what they are reading, how they are reading it, and how engaged they are with your content. It can be as simple or as complex as you like so don't be afraid! Once you get their little snip of code in your website, you're off to the races.

Message me if you need a hand with it.

The latest learning experience was going to Google.com/analytics and getting registered, as Diane suggested.  My webmaster/friend had forgotten this "last step" and walked me through it.  Today I checked my statistics and loved what I read.  Thank for dropping by my site.  And for your encouraging comments.  JO

Gretchen, I think you have a very nice website. It's simple, clean images, and easy to navigate. I love the book design to it. It makes me want to turn the page and read more! Check out some of your "Buy" buttons though, the images weren't coming through for me.

Gretchen,

I like the look of your site. One thing: if I had just stumbled on to it, I'm not sure I would have immediately realized My Secret is a book. Perhaps you could tweak it a bit to clarify that.

In searching for a publicist for my forth coming book "Art of Winter" http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1039439249/art-of-winter I kept being asked if I was using Google Analytics. I'm my own webmaster and it's one of those things that I know I should take the time to do, but something else always gets in the way.

So I'm curious, those of you who are using Google Analytics, how is it helping you improve your marketing and sales?

I have a new author webpage, focused on my most recent book. I've tried to incorporate reading guides, etc., for readers (book groups and students). If anyone has feedback about the site, please let me know. [Note: the "Discussion Questions" have some SPOILERS.]

I guess it would help if I gave you the webpage address:

Still hoping to get some feedback:
