Group Info and Guidelines

Welcome to the SheWrites group for Speculative Fiction Writers.

Here are just a few, simple guidelines.

1) This is primarily a networking group and NOT a critique group. You are welcome to post short works or small portions of long work, but keep in mind that posting your work to an open forum like this constitutes the use of your first electronic rights. That means many editors and publishers won't then buy it. I recommend Critters as a great closed critique forum.

2) Feel free to promote your writing by announcing your publications and inserting links to your work. However, please don't use this group to advertise anything other than Spec Fic writing that you have some connection to.

3) Feel free to post things of interest to other Spec Fic writers- new markets, calls for submissions, favorite world-building links, great articles etc. If it is someone else's content, however, you should provide a link. Cutting and pasting someone else's work is breaking copyright (even on the internet).

4) Be kind. No flaming or trolls, please- except in your fantasy. Expressing opposing opinions can always be done courteously, without personal attacks or rudeness.

Interview with Beatrice, the squirrel. She is a witch's familiar from my new collection of urban fantasy short stories "Squirrel of Magic".

Beatrice is telepathic. She needs a human telepath to translate her words into speech.

I've been tagged to participate in a blog hop - my first one. It's called My Writing Process. On my blog day, Apr 28, I'll have to answer 4 questions on my blog:

1. What am I working on?
2. How does my work differ from others in its genre?
3. Why do I write what I do?
4. How does my writing process work?

In addition to my answers, I'll post the links to the blog that tagged me (as a thank you) and 3 other blogs I'd tag for the following week (May 5). If any of you wants to be participate, please let me know, and I'll tag you. I guess we can include in our posts whatever promotional material we want, links, bios etc. I'll take the first three responses. The only thing I'd ask you is that you link back to my blog.
Thank you.

Getting rights back on all my backlist...I've just begun. I own three of them now and will take back the other fifteen between 2015-2017 and self-publish each one.. Yeah!
