Group Info and Guidelines

Welcome to the SheWrites group for Speculative Fiction Writers.

Here are just a few, simple guidelines.

1) This is primarily a networking group and NOT a critique group. You are welcome to post short works or small portions of long work, but keep in mind that posting your work to an open forum like this constitutes the use of your first electronic rights. That means many editors and publishers won't then buy it. I recommend Critters as a great closed critique forum.

2) Feel free to promote your writing by announcing your publications and inserting links to your work. However, please don't use this group to advertise anything other than Spec Fic writing that you have some connection to.

3) Feel free to post things of interest to other Spec Fic writers- new markets, calls for submissions, favorite world-building links, great articles etc. If it is someone else's content, however, you should provide a link. Cutting and pasting someone else's work is breaking copyright (even on the internet).

4) Be kind. No flaming or trolls, please- except in your fantasy. Expressing opposing opinions can always be done courteously, without personal attacks or rudeness.

"I personally don’t like books that are too realistic. If I wanted realistic, I wouldn't read fiction. I’d just step out my front door."

Read my new author interview with Kelly Harmon, and be sure to leave a comment so we know you were there:)
